Volunteer Manual: Open Gym & Front Desk
Opening Checklist:
- Front Door lock code: 0519
- Turn lights on, flip sign to “Open”
- Bathroom: make sure toilet flushed & diaper genie empty
- Kitchen: make sure Keurig has water
As families come:
- Greet them!
- Log everyone’s attendance in the computer (computer login Pin: 484848)
- Stay friendly, positive, offer support
- If a child is struggling you can offer a prize from the prize bin at the front desk or offer the use of a timer (behind front desk).
Other:
- Look around the center: anything broken? Garbage left out? Etc.
- Resource Wall: the Superhero Center does not partner with any agencies, but we do provide information & options in the community.
- Question you can’t answer or family needs extra help?
- Get their information and share with Stephanie Kulpa (Parent Liaison): she is in the volunteer chat and at stephk@superherocenter.org
- Encourage the family to join the Superhero Parents group on facebook so that they can reach out for what other families have found to be helpful – recommendations from other families may be the best form of support!
New Families to the Center:
- You can sign them up as a new Superhero in the registration system (if they didn’t do this online already)
- They can also register themselves on our website: www.superherocenter.org
- If family seems to be in need of additional support, connect them with Stephanie Kulpa & direct to Superhero Parent Facebook group
- If able, give them a tour of the center
