Alexa Bois

Superhero Center Administrator

Since taking her first job at Walter Lawson’s Children’s Home at age 16, Alexa Bois has made advocating for and teaching superheroes her life’s work. She served three years in the United States Peace Corps, creating and running schools in highly impoverished rural areas in the Caribbean island nation of Grenada.

Alexa has taught for over twenty years in the Harlem School District in Machesney Park, specializing in providing quality programming and experiences for individuals with autism and similar diagnoses. She has earned degrees in Special Education from Illinois State University, Northern Illinois University, and Olivet Nazarene University.

She is a passionate advocate for empowering the autism community and works tirelessly to ensure that superheroes and their families have every opportunity to live their best lives. When not working or volunteering, Alexa loves traveling with her family.
